Wednesday 6th March
As you will be aware, soon your child will soon be choosing options for their GCSEs. In order to aid them in this decision, a GCSE Geography ‘taster’ fieldtrip has been planned to the Lake District. During this day, pupils will be taken to a variety of unique and picturesque environments, all of which will be studied in more detail on the GCSE course. This fieldtrip will enable pupils to develop a greater awareness of what GCSE Geography entails and will help them understand key geographical processes if they choose to study the subject at GCSE.
Pupils will be required to wear their own clothes for the trip, but it should be noted that suitable clothing is required, including sensible footwear that you don’t mind getting dirty, a warm and waterproof jacket (Even if it is sunny in the morning!) Where pupils are not suitably dressed they will not be permitted to take part in the trip for health and safety reasons. There will be some elements of walking involved to see some of the geographical features so sensible footwear is essential. They will need to bring a packed lunch, if your son/daughter is entitled to a free school meal, this will be provided on the day.
The cost of the Trip is £9 which covers transport to the Lake District.
