  • ‘Laura has worked very well in online learning and she enjoys it’. – Year 9 parent/carer
  • ‘My son has an EHCP in place but has decided that remote working is working for him. Don’t get me wrong there are days where I struggle to get him to do the work. For once he is interacting with lessons which is a huge thing for him’. – Year 9 parent/carer
  • ‘Keep helping the way you are in these difficult times’. – Year 8 parent/carer
  • ‘I think the school is doing a great job and the home learning is so much better through this lockdown with the use of Google Classroom. My children are able to establish a daily routine and I am confident that they can be left to undertake each lesson without worrying about whether they are doing enough work. I know if for some reason there is no work set then they can access Reading Plus or White Rose Maths etc as a backup but most of the time they have a lesson or a task. Amelia particularly likes the pre-recorded classes Mr Foster prepares if he knows he cannot make the lesson and I know Harvey’s form teacher Mr Williams always takes notes of any problems with online learning at the end of each day. I do not have concerns about the screen time. My children take their breaks away from the computer and I ensure use of other devices is limited. They get fresh air everyday and do other things such as read etc but would offer my support’. – Year 8 parent/carer
  • ‘I think the online lessons are very good and you’re doing an amazing job while the children are off’. – Year 8 parent/carer
  • ‘Alfie likes home learning, he said he can get more done without being disturbed! We have had no problems at all he just gets on with it’. – Year 8 parent/carer
  • ‘I would just like to give a mention to Mr Cain, he’s gone above and beyond with his teaching during this time. He goes out of his way to help the children understand what they need to do. He’s a credit to your school’. – Year 7 parent/carer
  • ‘Some of it is fantastic. They are engaging and challenging and enjoyable’. – Year 7 parent/carer
  • ‘I think the school is doing a good job with the home schooling’. – Year 7 parent/carer

Parent / Carer Voice

At Dean Trust Wigan we continually strive to improve in order to increase the outcomes for our pupils. Parent/Carer feedback and support of our endeavours is always appreciated. Parents and carers are asked to complete questionnaires about our school at our parent/carer evenings. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive, they reflect the care, support and quality of education that our pupils experience in school.
